Kyrenia is one of the best places for vacation in North Cyprus. You can enjoy here walking along the old streets and historical buildings, feel the smells of the sea, flowers, fruit around, taste local cuisine and drink flavored coffee in enchanting atmosphere of Old Harbour with its whimsical yachts, boats and ancient fortress.

You can observe amazing mountains on the back side and the endless sea on the front side in every place of Kyrenia. Among lots of market places, souvenir shops, cafes and restaurants in the center of the city you can find historical places such as Agha Cafer Pasha mosque, the Round Tower Gallery, the Icon Museum and certainly Kyrenia Castle. It is interesting, that many shops, cafes, bars and hotels are arranged in ancient buildings of the old city, that give them even more atmosphere of that epoch.

Away from the harbour you can visit the Lusignan Bellapais Abbey constructed in Gothic style, the royal castle of Saint Hilarion high in the mountains, where you can observe not only Ruins of the ancient buildings, but the marvelous views of the Kyrenia’s coastline.

Except the central part Kyrenia area includes smaller villages. The largest among them are Alsancak, Lapta, Karshiyaka in the West and Karakum, Catalkoy, Ozankoy in the East. All these villages are located along the coastline and have buildings not higher than four floors.
